Connect — finding our place
The Curious Collective is a nursery built around children, their families, early years professionals and our local community coming together. That community is Worthing itself: the woods, the shoreline, the farms and the people who make and do things here. We want the town around us to be part of everyday learning, so that a child grows up knowing their place and feeling it is theirs.
The town around us
Local artists and community groups
Our nature-led curriculum follows children's curiosity and the changing seasons, and a good deal of it happens beyond our own walls. Forest School takes us into the woods. Beach School takes us down to the Worthing shoreline, to wet sand, chalk and the fascinating sea creatures in rock pools. Farm School takes us to animals and the land they live on. Early years professionals go with the children every step, listening closely, noticing and guiding, so that a grey morning on the beach is an adventure held in careful hands.
We are also building connections with local artists and community groups, so that Worthing's community becomes part of everyday learning. We picture someone who draws for a living sitting at a low table with a box of charcoal and a handful of shells, or a local group bringing what it knows and loves into the nursery. Children get to meet the real people of their town, and those people get to see Worthing through very small eyes.
As we get closer to opening in early 2027, we will share more about who we are working with. For now, this is the intention: a nursery that belongs to its town, rather than a building with the town kept outside.

Families in nursery life
Families are part of nursery life here, with each other as much as with us. Shared stories, family traditions and parent workshops bring parents into the room and into one another's company, and home languages, cultures and traditions are welcomed and woven into the day.
If you have arrived in Worthing recently and are still finding your people, this is one of the places you might find them: at the door at pick-up, over a cup of tea at a workshop, or because your child has come home singing a song in a language that isn't yours.
